Frogmouth Cottage Photography is named after the Tawny Frogmouths that visit and nest in the trees on our nature strip and our backyard. As well as our trees they like to sit on our fences, TV aerial and once nested on our chimney! I thought it was time they took pride of place on my site. They have visited us every year since 2010. We don’t always take photos, but we do have some memorable moments captured.
If you live in Victoria, you may remember that brief interlude we had in May, between lock downs when life seemed to back to normal. We went walking Warrandyte on one of those weekends, and it was great to see so many people out and about enjoying the lovely weather and sunshine (at least Melbourne did give us that!).

The El Dorado Dredge is an impressive sight – it’s enormous! – and definitely worth a visit. I’m inspired to get back there we can travel again and Go Local First.
My first test of Ilford SFX 200 with a red 25 filter. Taken during lockdown, my subject matter was restricted to what I could see from my house.
My latest purchase in my 2020 photo project is a Rollei Giro 90. I could find very little information about this camera when I first saw it on eBay, so it was a bit of a gamble. One that has paid off. The negatives turned out great, and surprisingly they were upside down!
The Lorne Dog Beach was the perfect place for a stroll, and having a water dog, it was a must!
This series is from another photography assignment in 1999 – night photography. The top photo is one of my favourite all time photos, it printed (in a darkroom) beautifully. One of the positives of lock-down is rediscovering some of these old negatives.
We took a morning walk from our apartment building at Charlottehaven to the Kastellet (Star Fortress) and then into Copenhagen for morning tea at the Design Museum. Passing the Ivar Huitfeldt Column, Gefion Fountain and St. Alexander Nevsky Church along the way.
Tallinn Old Town is one the best preserved medieval towns in Europe, with cobble stoned streets, intact medieval walls and towers, St Olaf’s Church (1267), Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (1900) with it’s iconic onion domes, The Parliament Of Estonia (a 13th century castle) and the Telegraph Hotel (housed in the old Estonian Telegraph building, 1878). No wonder it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
