In January 2018 we spent a week in the Gippsland Lakes area. These photos are of the pier at Raymond Island near Paynesville.
The scenery in the West McDonnell Ranges is magnificient. We took a drive from Alice Springs to the Ochre Pits, Ellery Creek big Hole, Standley Chasm, and Simpsons Gap.
We watched the sun set over Kata Tjuta while furiously waving flies away from the camera!
Walpa Gorge is an unexpected oasis of waterholes and greenery within the Kata Tjuta structures.
After an early morning visit to the Field of Lights, we watched the sunrise over Uluru and Kata Tjuta from the top of a dune.
After our 11 kilometre walk, we missed the hop-on / hop-off bus by 10 minutes. With one hour and fifty minutes to wait we chilled out at the Mala carpark rest area, taking in the quite peacefulness.
We walked 11 kilometres around the base of Uluru and to Kantju Gorge.
A couple of photos of Uluru on our first day at Ayers Rock Resort. The sunset photo I was unprepared for without a tripod or faster film in my camera.
I took these shots to deomonstrate the impact of red and green filters on a landscape that is predominantly red and green with a perfect blue sky.
