More of beautiful Varenna, Italy
Varenna is in the centre of Lake Como, on the eastern shores of the lake. It’s a gorgeous little village and was quite stunning on a bright and sunny winter day.

I had my camera, but only a roll of ISO 400 film and there was too little light to shoot by hand. I thought I’d try out pushing it to 800. Like so many photos of this time, the streets and station were eerily quiet. I like the dark blacks and the washed out highlights.
These photos are from my very first roll of black and white film, shot as an assignment for a Black & White Photography course, where I learnt to develop and print B&W film.

We had the most spectacular weather in Konstanz on New Year’s Day 2018. The lake and Imperia statue at the harbour entrance were stunning.
In January 2018 we spent a week in Menaggio on Lake Como. On a day trip to Veronna on the other side of the lake the windows, doors and gates captured my eye and my camera’s attention.
